This Privacy Policy explains how LinkNotes ("LinkNotes", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the LinkNotes mobile application on iOS or Android (the "App").
1. Summary
LinkNotes is designed to work locally on your devices. We do not operate user accounts, analytics, advertising, cloud sync, or server-side storage for your notes. Notes, folders, imported files, and images you add in the App are stored on your device.
2. Information the App Accesses
The App may access the following information only when you choose to use the related feature:
- Apple Notes export files selected by you on iOS.
- Encrypted LinkNotes .notepack files selected or opened by you on Android.
- Notes, folders, note text, timestamps, and local app settings created in the Android App.
- Images or photos that you select from your device gallery or file picker to add to notes.
- Files shared into the App from apps such as Files, Telegram, WhatsApp, or other apps.
3. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information, note contents, photos, files, analytics data, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, or account information through the App. The App does not send your notes or photos to our servers.
4. How Information Is Used
The App uses information locally to:
- help export Apple Notes on iOS using the bundled LinkNotes Exporter Shortcut;
- encrypt an exported notes package for transfer to Android;
- open, decrypt, and import .notepack files on Android;
- let you create, edit, organize, search, and delete notes and folders on Android;
- let you attach selected images to local Android notes.
5. Sharing and Transfers Between Devices
LinkNotes lets you create an encrypted .notepack file and share it using apps or services you choose, such as messaging apps, email, cloud storage, or file transfer tools. Those third-party services are not operated or controlled by us. You are responsible for choosing how you transfer files between devices and for reviewing the privacy and security practices of any third-party service you use.
6. Third Parties
The App does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs. The App may rely on operating system features provided by Apple, Google, Android, iOS, Shortcuts, Files, or the device gallery/file picker. Third-party apps that you use to send, receive, open, or store files may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Security
LinkNotes encrypts exported note packages before transfer using local app code. Notes and attached images stored inside the Android App remain on the device. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure. Security also depends on your device settings, operating system, lock screen protection, backups, and any third-party service you choose for file transfer.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Data created or imported in LinkNotes is stored on your device until you delete it in the App, clear the App data, or uninstall the App. Because we do not maintain user accounts or server-side storage for LinkNotes notes, we do not have a server copy to delete. You can delete local notes, attached images, imported files, and app data from your device.
9. Children
LinkNotes is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International Use
Because LinkNotes stores app data locally and does not operate a user account or cloud service, your notes are not intentionally transferred by us to other countries. If you use third-party services to transfer files, those services may process data in other countries according to their own policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. The updated policy applies after it is posted.
